Intel recently introduced the 13th Gen Intel Core processor family, led by the 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900K – the world’s fastest desktop processor.
13th Gen Intel Core Raptor Lake Processors are now official!
The new 13th Gen Intel Core family features six new unlocked desktop CPUs for the greatest gaming, streaming, and recording experiences2. These processors have up to 24 cores, 32 threads, and blazing clock rates of 5.8 GHz.
The 13th Gen Intel Core desktop family, led by the launch of the Intel Core “K” CPUs, will include 22 processors and more than 125 partner system designs, offering outstanding application performance and platform compatibility.
With motherboards that use the new Intel 700 series chipset or the old Intel 600 series chipset, enthusiasts may benefit from the performance enhancements of 13th Gen Intel Core CPUs.
Users may enjoy the advantages of the 13th Gen Intel Core while also customizing their setup to suit their features and price choices thanks to the combination of the most recent DDR5 memory support and ongoing DDR4 memory compatibility.
“We are raising the standards of PC performance once again with our latest generation of flagship 13th Gen Intel Core Processors,” said Michelle Johnston Holthaus, executive vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group at Intel.
A Full-Featured Platform for Gaming and Creation
13th Gen Intel Core desktop CPUs deliver greater system performance – even under the most demanding multitasking tasks – by leveraging a matured Intel 7 process and x86 performance hybrid architecture. This includes up to a 15% improvement in single-threaded performance and a 41% improvement in multi-threaded performance.
Moreover, this generation of Intel’s performance hybrid architecture combines the fastest Performance-cores (P-core) ever constructed with up to double the number of Efficient-cores (E-core) – giving better single-threaded and multi-threaded performance that enables:
World’s best gaming experience
The new Core i9-13900K, with up to 24 cores (8 P-cores, 16 E-cores) and 32 threads, gives the greatest experience for gaming, streaming, and recording. With a clock speed of up to 5.8 GHz and 15% higher single-thread performance, it can push high frame rates and provide unlimited gaming experiences across major games.
Continued advances in content creation performance
More E-cores and up to 41% greater multi-threaded performance are added to the 13th Gen Intel Core desktop processor lineup to handle a variety of compute-intensive applications and keep people in the creative flow.
An unmatched overclocking experience
From professionals to beginners, the 13th Gen Intel Core CPU delivers an unrivaled overclocking experience. With P-cores, E-cores, and DDR5 memory, users of 13th Gen Intel Core processors may overclock their systems at higher average speeds.
In addition, Intel improved Intel Speed Optimizer, a simple one-click overclocking function, to enable 13th Gen CPUs so customers may easily overclock. Besides, a variety of overclocking modules are available because of the strong Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) 3.0 ecosystem. This functionality allows memory overclocking with DDR4 and DDR5 hassle-free when used with Intel Dynamic Memory Boost.
Industry-Leading Features for Desktop Platforms
Based on power and thermal headroom during a certain operation, Intel Adaptive Boost Technology and Thermal Velocity Boost opportunistically increase CPU clock frequencies. available in unlocked Intel Core i9 SKUs.
A significant improvement in multi-threaded performance and a better multi-tasking/mega-tasking experience for consumers are driven by more E-cores across Intel Core i5, i7, and i9.
It also includes PCIe Gen 5.0 support, with as many as 16 lanes off the processor. These latest desktop processors also increased DDR5-5600 and DDR5-5200 memory capability while preserving DDR4 compatibility. Lastly, they also now include 2x the L2 cache and increased L3 cache.
Availability
Starting on October 20, 2022, 13th Gen Intel Core desktop “K” processors and the Intel Z790 chipset will be sold with packaged CPUs, motherboards, and desktop systems. There are no details yet about their pricing and the upcoming processors, so stay updated!
