Xiaomi just launched its latest 12S flagship smartphone series with 12S, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra.
The new 12S
series features the 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 octa-core flagship chipset. They
claimed that this chipset has a 10% improvement in GPU and CPU performance and
30# in power efficiency compared to its predecessor. Xiaomi also put a great
cooling system in these phones especially with the 12S Ultra since it has a 3D
liquid mechanism. Also, the cameras of these smartphone has co-engineered with Leica. Let’s check their other specs and features.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra
Beginning with the 12S Ultra, this device is the bigger brother of the two and comes with a different camera island design. The camera system of this phone has Leica Summicron 1:1.9-4.1 /13-120 ASPH. It boasts a 50.3MP 23mm wide-angle 1-inch Sony IMX989 main shooter that supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).Â
Along with that are the 48MP Sony IMX586 periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom and 48MP Sony IMX486 ultra-wide lens, and TOF 3D for depth. In addition, it is a cable of 8K@24fps and 4K@60fps video recording. It also features a 720p slow-mo at 3840fps.
This phone also features a 6.73-inch QHD+ LTPO2 AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It carries a large 4,860mAh battery with 67W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging support.
Xiaomi 12S Pro
Next is the 12S Pro, which has similar hardware to the 12S Ultra but has a different
design. It has a 50MP Sony IMX707 main shooter with OIS that can also provide
great image quality. Besides, it also has a 50MP portrait lens and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
Moreover,
it also carries a large 6.73-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz
refresh rate too. This device has a smaller 4,600mAh battery but supports a
more powerful 120W fast charging technology. Xiaomi claimed that it can fully
charge the phone in just 19 minutes.
Xiaomi 12S
Lastly, the vanilla model of the series, the Xiaomi 12S, looks like the 12S Pro. It comes with a smaller 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate support. Additionally, its camera configuration is quite different from the first two smartphones. This device has a 50MP main shooter, 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro lens. The Xiaomi 12S owns a large 4,860mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.
These three smartphones have the same 32MP selfie cameras. They also have up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS3.1 fast internal storage. Besides, they are also running MIUI 13 based on Android 12. Other features are an in-display fingerprint scanner, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, dual speakers, WiFi 6e, and Bluetooth 5.2.
