There’s a rumor that ASUS is discontinuing its popular Zenfone lineup, but that’s not true, according to an official statement from the company.
ASUS dismisses speculations of a Zenfone lineup discontinuation!
Asus is well-known for its ROG gaming phones, which include insane specs, massive batteries, and RGB lighting. It also offers the Zenfone lineup, which has become known in recent years for packing top features into a small form factor.
According to a recent source, Asus has discontinued production of Zenfones as part of an ongoing internal restructure. This news has sparked quite a reaction in the tech industry, reaching several popular new websites. This also meant that the Zenfone 10 would be the Taiwanese company’s final compact flagship. That, however, is not the case, with Asus affirming that its Zenfone run is here to stay.
Asus confirmed in a press release that it will continue to run its Zenfone lineup and ROG Phone lineups and is committed to its smartphone business and customers. The full statement from Asus is as follows:
“We would like to address the rumor that ASUS Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of the series and the ASUS Zenfone product line will be shut down. This is not true. We will continue our two main phone business product lines, the ROG Phone and the Zenfone. ASUS has a strong commitment to our smartphone business and customers. Please reference our Q2 earnings call for more information. Please stay tuned for our 2024 product lineups.”
Furthermore, in the last several years, the company has succeeded in producing a unique hardware product. The Zenfone 10, the series’ final device, provides excellent battery life, an impressive amount of capacity, and a price that appears to be more than reasonable. Furthermore, the phone is tiny and is regarded as one of the greatest compact smartphones on the market, if not the best.
After all, tiny phones might still be a phone choice for some, so fans and future fans can rest assured that the Zenfone 10 will not be the end of the selection. The latest story that Asus is reacting to said that the firm would discontinue its Zenfone lineup and combine those resources into the ROG Phone, but Asus is directly stating that both product lines will continue, and there’s even a tease of 2024 future lines.
This comment effectively ends the speculation, though it’s worth noting that the company would be unlikely to confirm such a claim, especially with the Zenfone 10 set to ship in the United States in just a few weeks.
Having stated that, we hope Asus will remain. It’s always sad to lose a smartphone player, especially one that’s solving market gaps like Asus.
