The GEAR UP! program was successfully launched by the Department of Advertising and Public Relations (PUP-DAPR) of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Innity Philippines, which co-presented an event with IN2IT Cosmetics, a workshop-seminar.

Students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ Department of Advertising and Public Relations (PUP-DAPR) and Innity Philippines successfully launched the GEAR UP! They are demonstrating a remarkable act of endurance at an event co-presented by IN2IT Cosmetics, a workshop-seminar. Even if there was an unexpected obstacle, the event showcased the participants’ commitment to navigate the world of digital media and the beauty that may exist in the face of difficulty.
Launched on December 5, 2023, in the PUP-COC Audio Visual Room, GEAR UP featured interesting talks by presenters Andre Agawin, Head of Media Operations, and Ninz Alamar, Media Strategy Manager, both from Innity Philippines. The program effectively walked attendees through the complicated process of purchasing and planning digital advertising, providing them with vital information that these industry professionals had carefully chosen to provide them the tools they need to make data-driven decisions in the digital era. In order to improve the entire experience, the event included activities at booths that incorporated empowerment and beauty.
A specially designed photo booth allowed participants to visually express themselves while capturing innovative and passionate moments in collaboration with Red Images, the official studio partner. Furthermore, IN2IT Cosmetics provided a vanity dresser to make sure each participant looked and felt their best, perfectly aligning with the company’s objective to provide Filipinos with access to world-class beauty.
Unfortunately, as fate would have it, there has been an earthquake, which forced everyone to leave right away for their safety. After the university declared that all activities within the premises were going to stop, they decided to shorten the program in order to ensure everyone’s safety, which was their primary concern.
Despite the brief inconvenience caused by the earthquake, the organizers and Innity Philippines showed flexibility and dedication to the participants’ educational journey. After that, the workshop was changed to an asynchronous style to make sure that the learning goals were still satisfied in spite of the unexpected events. This strategy shows how obstacles may be turned into chances for development and education.
