Action camera brand AKASO is finally stepping into the Philippine market. The company recently announced that Siklab Spark Corporation will handle its local distribution, marking the start of AKASO’s push in the country.
AKASO began in 2010 and slowly built a name for making affordable action cameras that perform well. The brand now sells in more than 200 countries, with over seven million units sold. It follows the idea of “Let Life Run,” focusing on simple and reliable cameras for people who just want to record everyday moments, not only extreme sports.
Aiming to Reach More Filipino Creators
The Philippines has a strong travel and creator community, which makes it a natural market for AKASO. With Siklab Spark on board, the brand hopes to make its cameras easier to buy both online and in stores. They also plan to work with local partners and hold activities for creators.
The first product under this partnership is the AKASO 360, a small 360° action camera that’s built for daily use. It comes with dual lenses, a 2.29-inch touchscreen, and built-in stabilization. It can record 5.7K videos for up to two hours and capture 72MP 360° photos. There’s also a DNG8 RAW mode for those who want more editing flexibility.
