ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the availability of its 2026 ROG Strix G and ROG Strix SCAR gaming laptops in the Philippines, featuring upgraded displays, next-generation Intel, NVIDIA hardware, and improved cooling.
Consisting of the ROG Strix G16, Strix G18, and Strix SCAR 18, the new lineup brings enhanced cooling, expanded connectivity, and user-friendly upgradeability. The price for this lineup starts at PHP 159,995.
2026 ROG STRIX G – Power Up To The Limit
The 2026 ROG Strix G series receives several upgrades aimed at gamers and content creators. Both the Strix G16 and Strix G18 now feature 2.5K ROG Nebula displays with a 300Hz refresh rate, offering smoother visuals for fast-paced games.
Powering the laptops are Intel Core Ultra processors, including configurations with the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, paired with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPUs. ASUS says the combination is designed to handle modern AAA games and demanding streaming or creative applications.
ASUS has also expanded connectivity options while retaining the gamer-focused design that has become a staple of the Strix lineup. In addition, the company continues to improve its cooling technologies for the 2026 Strix series.
The latest models use a combination of end-to-end vapor chambers, Tri-Fan Technology, and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal to improve thermal performance. According to ASUS, the upgraded cooling system can reduce internal temperatures by up to 15°C compared to previous designs, helping maintain performance during extended gaming sessions.
ROG Strix SCAR 18 – Ultimate Power
Leading the lineup is the ROG Strix SCAR 18, which comes equipped with what ASUS claims is the world’s first 18-inch 4K 240Hz Mini LED laptop display.
The panel features more than 2,000 dimming zones, 16x greater motion clarity, up to 1,600-nit peak brightness, and full DCI-P3 color coverage. ASUS has also included its ROG Nebula ELMB technology to improve motion clarity during gameplay. In addition, these are all enhanced more with ASUS’ DLSS 4, Multi-Frame Generation, and GPU-accelerated technologies.
Under the hood, the flagship configuration combines an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, targeting gamers who want top-tier performance for modern titles and creative workloads.
The SCAR 18 also receives additional thermal upgrades, including a 20% larger vapor chamber, improved airflow design with upgraded liquid crystal polymer fans, and a new graphite-and-copper heatsink solution for SSD cooling exclusive to the Strix SCAR 18.
Easier Upgrades for Users
One of the most practical additions to the 2026 Strix lineup is a new tool-less upgrade design.
Users can easily access RAM, SSD slots, and cooling fans without requiring extensive disassembly. ASUS has also integrated its Q-Latch mechanism, simplifying SSD installation and replacement.
For users who frequently upgrade storage or memory, this design should make maintenance significantly more convenient.
Signature ROG Design Features
All these new laptops continue to feature ROG’s signature design language, including a full-surround Aura RGB light bar that can be customized through Armoury Crate.
The ROG Strix SCAR 18 also includes the AniMe Vision display on the lid, allowing users to display animations, custom graphics, or GIFs using an array of programmable LEDs.
Pricing and Availability
The 2026 ROG Strix G series is available in five configurations in the Philippines, ranging from RTX 5050 to RTX 5080 Laptop GPU options. Meanwhile, the flagship 2026 ROG SCAR 18 has a higher-spec model and comes with a different bundle.
