Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has been named by Ookla as the provider of the Best Mobile Video Experience in the Philippines for the second consecutive year, reflecting its continued investments in expanding and improving its 5G network nationwide.
Based on Speedtest Intelligence data for the first half of 2026, Smart recorded a Video Score of 72.82, the highest among mobile operators in the country.
The award measures customers’ real-world video streaming Quality of Experience (QoE) based on three equally weighted factors: video start time, uninterrupted playback, and Full HD resolution.
Under Ookla’s methodology, the score reflects users who experience video start times of less than two seconds, no rebuffering, and 1080p or higher resolution in most video sessions.
For Smart and TNT customers, this means faster-loading videos, smoother playback, and clearer HD streaming across livestreams, series, short-form content, and live sporting events.

The recognition comes as video continues to play a bigger role in how Filipinos communicate, learn, work, and consume entertainment online.

Smart continues to invest in network optimization, targeted rollouts, and 5G adoption to support video streaming and other data-intensive services. As of the end of June 2026, the number of 5G-capable individual devices on its network grew by 30% to 12.5 million, accounting for 21% of all individual devices.
