    How to choose famload promo

    Is your PLDT Prepaid wifi always run out of data? You might be using the wrong promo.

    Last August 1, 2020, PLDT/Smart decides to remove FAMLOAD with double data and replace it with new FAMLOAD VIDEO and FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS. Five days later, they added FAMLOAD STUDY which obviously focuses on students. Now with this change, a lot of subscribers get confused including me. Few users went straight to FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS as it looks and sounds better but ends up with zero data.

    What really are the difference between these three promos?

    Basically FAMLOAD STUDY is for students, FAMLOAD VIDEO is for browsing and FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS is for Youtube. 

    FAMLOAD STUDY has fewer data and no Youtube. (Good only for students that are using the learning apps listed)

    FAMLOAD STUDY

    It has 599 valid for 15 days and 999 valid for 30 days. Plan 599 has 12GB of data for all sites and apps while plan 999 has 24GB. Both promos have 3GB data for learning apps every day that will refresh daily every 12 AM. Learning apps are Microsoft 365, NEO LMS, GabayGuro, and Canvas.

    FAMLOAD VIDEO has more data for all sites and apps. (Good for Social Media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Google)

    It has four promos, starting with 199, 599, 999, and 1499.

    • Validity: 7 days
    • Data: 12GB
    • Youtube: 1GB
    • Total Data: 19GB (1GB x 7days) + 12GB = 19GB
     
    • Promo code: FAMLOAD VIDEO 599
    • Validity: 15 days
    • Data: 40GB
    • Youtube: 1GB
    • Total Data: 19GB (1GB x 15days) + 40GB = 55GB

     

    • Promo code: FAMLOAD VIDEO 999
    • Validity: 30 days
    • Data: 70GB
    • Youtube: 1GB
    • Total Data: 100GB (1GB x 30days) + 70GB = 100GB

     

    • Promo code: FAMLOAD VIDEO 1499
    • Validity: 30 days
    • Data: 100GB
    • Youtube: 1GB
    • Total Data: 100GB (1GB x 30days) + 100GB = 130GB

     Note that the data for all sites and apps will not reset. Once it is consumed, it will never be going back unlike the 1GB data for youtube that will be reset every 12 midnight. A lot of users get confused about this as they can still watch youtube but can’t access Facebook or any sites.

    Users can always monitor their usage in two ways. Using My PLDT Smart App or using the modem’s dashboard pldthomewifisettings.net or pldthome.com/homewifiload.

    FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS has more Youtube Data but less data for all sites and apps. (Good for Youtube streaming)

    It has also four promos, starting with 199, 599, 999, and 1499.

    • Total Data: 60GB (3GB x 15days) + 15GB = 60GB

    The main difference between each promo is the Data size, and now that we know them, we can now choose what will be the best.

    What is your data usage and what promo you should use? 

    1. If you are a student and your school is using Microsoft 365, NEO LMS, GabayGuro, and Canvas, then go with FAMLOAD STUDY.
    2. If you are a student and you are using the Zoom app for school then use the FAMLOAD VIDEO.
    3. If you work from home use FAMLOAD VIDEO.
    4. If you use it for personal stuff use FAMLOAD VIDEO.
    5. If you are a Youtube guy or a Youtuber then use FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS.

    Suggestions: Use FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS 1499 if you have the budget and if you keep watching youtube and you want big data. FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS 1499 has 90GB data already, just 10GB behind to FAMLOAD VIDEO 1499 but has better data on Youtube.

    What promo price should you choose? 199, 599, 999 or 1499?

    First-time users should always start with 199 as they need to evaluate their data usage. Once they know their usage then they can decide next if they should stay at 199 or go with other plans. Some beginners rush at FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS 599 and then later realize that the data was lesser than expected.

    Choose promo 199 for users that uses prepaid wifi temporarily or for a short period of time.

    Choose promo 199 or 599 if budget is an issue.

    Choose promo 999 before using 1499 as 1499 might be too much for you. Better try in lower promo first.

    For users with a higher budget, they should go directly with FAMLOAD VIDEO PLUS 1499.

    Conclusion 

    The best way to choose with all this promo is to know your usage and know each promo. Start with small and estimate your usage wisely. Know your limits and prioritize what matters.
