MediaTek is most commonly known for producing affordable mobile chipset. This 2020, MediaTek’s chipsets are supplied in the budget and mid-range segment of realme, Xiaomi, and other popular brands. But the company seems ready to enter the premium segment.

According to a new leak from Digital Chat Station, MediaTek is working on a 6nm based flagship chipset that will be launched in 2021. This will have the same architecture as the upcoming Samsung’s Exynos 1080 chipset.
However, this MediaTek chipset has a model number of MT689x and will have a Mali-G77 GPU. Tts GPU is quite similar to Dimensity 1000+ and Huawei Mate 40 Pro. The leaker claimed that it will reach over 600,000 points in anTuTu that shows that it is as fast as Snapdragon 865 in terms of performance.
Also, Digital Chat Station claimed that the price is in the 2k(CNY) price range. The Realme X7 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi K30 Ultra that is equipped with Dimensity 1000+ is also selling at a CNY1999-CNY2,199.
There is no other information about this chipset yet.
