    Ookla: Smart Communications Three-peats As The Country’s Fastest Mobile Network

    Ookla has perceived Smart Communications, Inc. as the Philippines’ fastest mobile network for three back-to-back years.

    Smart just outperformed Globe regarding Speed Score and normal transfer and download speeds for a very long time since 2018. This is in light of millions of consumer-initiated tests performed on LTE-capable gadgets in the Philippines.

    “This award recognizes Smart’s commitment to delivering fast speeds to their customers across the Philippines. With this latest win, Smart has won the Speedtest Award for Fastest Mobile Network in the Philippines three consecutive years in a row,” said Ookla CEO Douglas Suttles.

    To recall, Smart got a speed score of 15.06 against to speed score of 9.9 of Globe last 2018. By that, Ookla awarded Smart as the first Philippines’ Speedtest Awards Winner for mobile network speed in that year.

    Also, that year, Smart achieved average download speeds of 17.24Mbps and average upload speeds of 8.11 Mbps. Globe has an average download speed of only 11.10Mbps and 5.01Mbps average upload speed that year.

    Year after, Smart won the award again with a Speed Score of 17.4 versus the 10.65 Speed score of Globe. Also in the year 2019, Smart achieved an average download speed of 19.62Mbps and 9.45Mbps average upload speed. While Globe has only a 12.04 average download speed and 4.92Mbps upload speed.

    Then in 2020, Ookla awarded Smart Communications as the Speedtest Award Winner in Q1-Q2 2020 with an 18.33 Speed score. And the telco also achieved 15.94Mbps average download speed and 7.57Mbps average upload speed.

    Moreover, in Q3-Q4 2020, Smart got a Speed score of 24.99 against Globe’s 15.30. Therefore again, the telco won an award from Ookla as the Speedtest Awards Winner for Q3-Q4 2020. Besides, Smart posted a 20.08 average download speed and an average of 7.42Mbps for upload speed.

    Last year, Globe only has a speed score of 15.30, and only achieve 15.25Mbps average download speed and 4.11Mbps average upload speed.
