Globe expands network services in Cavite and Laguna

In recent months, Globe started upgrading and building cell sites in Batangas as well as expanding their fiber lines. Today, Globe said that they completed network modernization in key locations in the province of Cavite and Laguna. This network modernization resulted in better call, text, and data browsing services in parts of the said provinces.

Globe has upgraded 265 sites in 11 towns and cities in Cavite and three regions in Laguna from 3G to the latest mobile internet standard, 4G LTE.

These upgrades include sites in General Trias City, Dasmariñas City, Bacoor City, Naic, Cavite City, Trece Martires City, Carmona, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Tanza and Rosario. Meanwhile, Globe also working on sites in Alfonso, Amadeo, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, Tagaytay City, Silang, Talisay, and Ternate.

“These modernization efforts were intended to better serve our customers in upper Cavite and Laguna. The site upgrades will bring better connectivity and experience to our customers, especially now that classes have started for private schools, colleges, and universities in these provinces,” said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

The telco has also upgraded sites in Laguna, including Binan, San Pedro, and Sta. Rosa, to include one 5G tower.

“We reiterate our calls to customers who are still using 3G SIM cards to update to 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM cards now. Please avail of the SIM upgrade to experience the benefits and make the most of the opportunities brought by our modernization efforts. Updating a SIM card is FREE, and customers will get to keep their old numbers. 4G LTE-capable devices are also available at Globe Stores. Customers can check through online these affordable mobile phones for the meantime due to existing quarantine protocols,” added Agustin.

According to Ookla, Globe has the most consistent mobile network for two consecutive quarters in 2021. This is the result of their continued effort in improving the network connectivity of the country. With a Consistency Score of 70.43 in Q1 2021 and 75.98 in Q2 2021, they maintained the nationwide leading in mobile consistency.

To maximize Globe’s network improvement, we encourage you to upgrade your 2G/3G SIM into a 4G LTE-ready SIM card. If changing your phone number is no big deal, you can buy a new SIM card. But if not, don’t worry because you can upgrade your old SIM, by just bringing it to Globe Store.
