Microsoft just announced that Windows 11 will start to become available on October 5, 2021. The exciting part of this new Operating System is, it will be available as a free upgrade.
To recall, Microsoft has launched its latest Windows 11 Operating System (OS) last June 24, 2021. This new OS has a lot of innovative features and enhancements to the previous Windows 10. It comes with a fresh experience since it has a new, clean, beautiful, and modern Graphical User Interface.
Microsoft has also worked hard to make the user interface as simple as possible in as many areas as possible. With that, it results in a clean, fluid platform for work and pleasure that can truly boost your productivity. Some of the features that can help to improve your productivity are Snap layouts, Snap Groups, and Desktops.
So, if you have a PC that has Windows 10 on it, expect the free upgrade on October 5. However, like the previous Windows version, it will be available in phases. also, the upgrade will come in new eligible devices first, then over time be available to in-market eligible devices. That is based on hardware eligibility, reliability metrics, device age, and other aspects that impact the upgrading experience.
Moreover, Microsoft said that they expect all eligible devices to receive the free Windows 11 upgrade by mid-2022.
Lastly, if your Windows 10 PC is eligible for the upgrade, Windows Update will notify you when it becomes available. To see if your Windows 11 upgrade is ready, just go to settings, click Windows Update then select Check for updates.
