Acer Global Merchandising (AGM) has just announced that it is now the sole distributor of PlayStation in the Philippines. Sony Interactive Entertainment Singapore (SIES) designated AGM as its only distribution partner in the Philippines.

With this new partnership, Acer Global Merchandise (the official distributor of Acer and Predator in the Philippines) is now the distributor of PS5, PS4, and PlayStation accessories, as well as physical editions of the game software. They will be in charge of distributing these items to retail locations around the country.
“PlayStation is already a very popular gaming platform in the Philippines and we’re very happy to grow the market further,” said AGM Business Operations Manager Anjelo Paguntalan.
What will most likely change is that there will be a greater PlayStation presence in stores. Acer and Predator are among the top-selling laptop manufacturers in the nation, due in part to their strong retail presence. As a result, it stands to reason that we will soon see a greater push for PlayStation in the country.
Just to clarify, this distribution agreement is with AGM, not the main Acer business. This means that despite the new relationship, co-branded Acer and PlayStation gadgets are not likely to appear anytime soon.
