Another “lason” to my fellow Filipino keyboard addicts because Asus has announced their new ROG Claymore II mechanical keyboard. Asus announced it at the CES 2021 together with their new gaming mouse.
ROG Claymore II
They primarily designed this mechanical keyboard for gamers. It has customizable macro keys, per-key RGB backlighting, and it is the first device to features the ROG RX Blue or Red optical switches. Asus stated that it has a 100 million key press lifespan. You can use the ROG Claymore II connecting either via USB-C or wirelessly via 2.4GHz. Don’t worry about using it wirelessly because it has 4,000mAh that is expected to last up to 40 hours. While the USB-C port can support fast charging and USB passthrough for other devices.
However, it is an 80 percent tenkeyless mechanical keyboard. Also, the amazing feature of the ROG Claymore II is it has a detachable Numpad, and it can attach magnetically. So, if you can’t completely quit the Numpad, this model is perfect for you. Additionally, the Numpad features built-in media controls such as a volume dial.
ROG Gladius III
Asus also announced its new ROG Gladius III wireless gaming mouse. This new gaming mouse has a sensor that can support up to 19,000 DPI. Like the ROG Claymore II, you can also use it with a wire or wirelessly via 2.4GHz or Bluetooth. Besides, it has a similar design to Razer DeathAdder V2. And Asus said that they will also release a purely wired version of the ROG Gladius III.
One of the nice features of the gaming mouse is the replaceable switches. You can find the right experience for your need by letting you swap between three-pin mechanical and five-pin Omron optical switches.
Price and availability
There is no price yet for the gaming mouse and mechanical keyboard. But we may expect these to see in the market in Q2 of 2021.
