ASUS launches its latest ROG Phone 5s series with a very powerful processor and faster touch sampling rate.
In the last couple of months, ASUS released the ROG Phone 5 series which features the flagship Snapdragon 888. But today, they launch the new S-series that features the latest flagship Snapdragon 888+ and has a 360Hz fast touch sampling rate. This new series has two models, the ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro. Let’s check out their specs.
ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro
Both phones feature the 5nm Snapdragon 888+ that now has a 2.95GHz clock speed compared to the 2.84GHz of its predecessor. This chipset also has a 20% boosted AI Engine that now delivers 32 TOPS.
Moreover, they also both have a 6.78-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display panel that supports a 144Hz screen refresh rate. Of course, the main highlight of this screen is the 360Hz touch sampling rate that gives you low touch latency.
This screen features HDR10+ certification, 151% sRGB, 111% of DCI-P3, 1,200 nits max brightness, and an In-Display fingerprint scanner. Besides, their screen has a very durable Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Furthermore, the ROG Phone 5s features up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. Meanwhile, the 5s Pro only has an 18GB LPDDR5 RAM variant that has 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.
Both phones also have a very big 6,000mAh battery capacity that supports USB-C 65W fast charging. These phones still come with ultrasonic AirTrigger 5 sensors and grip press for game controls.
For the appearance, the vanilla version gets Phantom Black and Storm White colors, while the Pro model only comes with Phantom Black. The 5s version has the standard LED ROG logo on the back. But the Pro variant has the fancy ROG Vision, which is a configurable, dynamic matrix display. In addition, they measure 173 x 77 x 9.90 mm and weighs 238g.
How about their camera? They have a 64MP main shooter, 13MP ultra-wide lens, and 5MP macro lens for the rear setup. While they feature 24MP for the selfie camera.
Other features of these phones are WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G dual-standby, 3.5mm headphone jack NFC, GPS, and GLONASS.
