Because they are considered digital natives nowadays, children are more aware of technological developments.
Yet, as it becomes more advanced and fast-paced, it must be difficult to keep up, especially if you are a busy parent. This is where Basecamp, the authorized training partner of Power Mac Center, can help.
Basecamp by Power Mac Center offers Design Trail and Vision Hub courses
Basecamp’s “Design Trail” and “Vision Hub” workshop series provides engaging and age-appropriate digital courses on animation, game design, web design, video editing, and app development to empower children, teenagers, and young adults with the digital skills essential in today’s modern world.
Moreover, Design Trail for Kids offers non-digital classes in science experiments, painting, and drawing. Modules prepared in Cebuano will be made available to students in the Visayas and Mindanao areas. Beginning on April 11, 2023, classes will run continuously throughout the whole year.
“Parents always want the best for their kids, and Basecamp is here to help them provide the best digital learning experience. Just like a real base camp, we serve as a storehouse of food for the imagination and equipment needed by kids to survive the digital wilderness and, figuratively speaking, to scale the mountains ahead. Our courses are conducted by expert mentors who can readily address kids’ natural inquisitiveness and ensure their holistic development,” said Maleng Raysag, Basecamp Head.
Basecamp trains children to become the Philippines’ next animators, programmers, and filmmakers. The class takes use of Apple technology and provides participants with the information, abilities, and skills they need to succeed in their chosen careers or just enjoy pursuing their hobbies and talents. They can particularly enhance the abilities listed below:
Storytelling with iPad
The Design Trail courses “The Art of Comics” and “2D Animation using iPad,” intended for children aged 7 to 10, will improve students’ visual communication skills by having them create new characters from simple lines, shapes, and colors.
Children who enjoy telling stories will learn to express their ideas through comics brought to life by technology after completing these courses.
Although teenagers and young adults (16–21) can enroll in Vision Hub’s “3D Creation and Animation for Beginners,” older teens and young adults can take it a step further using animation techniques and software tools utilized in the field.
Programming and STEM skills
Everything nowadays is run by technology, so soon we will need more programmers. Get your child a more organized training program that may show them how to create their own Roblox game and upload it to Roblox Studio if they are always immersed in gaming platforms like Roblox and Minecraft.
Kids can also become familiar with Minecraft for Education, a great educational program that promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) abilities, unlocks creativity, and encourages group cooperation and problem-solving among students.
Using various tools and programming languages, children may acquire the discipline required to create their video games, while teenagers and young adults can improve their talents in web design, video editing, and app development.
These digital courses are available year-round and may be taken online or face-to-face, so your children can fit them in during their free time.
Non-digital skills
Furthermore, Design Trail for Kids offers classes for the development of analog skills, including painting, drawing, printmaking, and manga creation. Young scientists are also encouraged to explore scientific ideas via practical exercises and inquiry-based learning.
To help kids understand the importance of doing things by hand and using their creativity, these non-digital classes are only offered in person. The Basecamp training center is located at 3/L Glorietta 5, Ayala Center, Makati City.
Design Trail sessions are conducted over 4 days, lasting 1.5 hours each. For online sessions, digital courses cost P2,500 per student each course, while face-to-face lessons cost P3,000. Meanwhile, non-digital courses can be purchased at P3,000 each.
The cost of the online courses offered by Vision Hub is P5,500 per student, each course is conducted over 5 days or a total of 15 hours.
