Canon debuted the Canon EOS R50 V, its newest camera dedicated to video creators who are looking for a versatile vlogging companion.

Canon EOS R50 V: New vlogging camera for creators!
Well, this latest camera is an upgraded version of the Canon EOS R50, which now comes with upgraded video capabilities, a compact body, and more affordable pricing.
The Canon EOS R50 V features the same 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and Digic X image processor and now uses a Dual Pixel AF II system with focus breathing compensation that we can also find on the Canon EOS R6 Mark II.
This camera can shoot up to 4K@60fps (crop), 4K@30fps (oversampled), and 1080p@120fps video. According to Canon, you can record up to 2 hours of video, which is great for podcasts. It also arrived with Canon Log 3, HLG, and PQ in 4:2:2 10-bit and 14 color filter modes.
Although there is still no in-body image stabilization, this new camera can help you shoot smoother footage with its electronic stabilization. There are also new video recording modes, like options for slow or fast shutters, depending on what you are capturing.

The camera also has two video recording buttons, one at the top and one at the front. The record button at the front helps creators film vlogs easily. It is also easier to film in horizontal or vertical mode since it has an additional tripod screw mount on the side of the camera.
Moreover, framing shots is all done on the three-inch articulated touchscreen of the camera since it doesn’t feature an electronic viewfinder. But for content creators like me, the screen of the camera is already enough, especially if its screen can be articulated. Is it also worth noting that it has no built-in flash, unlike its predecessor.
The Canon EOS R50 V uses the RF-mount and supports all Canon RF lenses, including the new RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens, which firstly features power zoom functionality.
Price and availability
The new Canon EOS R50 V is priced at USD 650 (around PHP 37.2K) for the body-only, while USD 850 (around 48.7k) with the new Canon RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens. This camera will be available starting in April, however, we don’t have any details yet about its local pricing and availability.
