Calling all aspiring filmmakers! Canon Marketing Philippines will host a filmmaking class on May 24 and 25, 2024, at Henry’s Photo Fiesta, One Ayala Mall, Makati, with award-winning Filipino director Zig Dulay.

During the workshop, Dulay will explain his creative workflow, including scriptwriting, planning, and post-production, as well as provide advice for budding filmmakers. Participants will also get the opportunity to practice with Canon’s EOS R system, Cinema EOS camera, and Cine-Lenses at the Canon booth.
“Storytelling has always been a passion of mine, so to be at a place where I can share my experience and knowledge with young filmmakers is very exciting. It’s very important to uplift and empower Filipino creativity through hands-on workshops, especially when they’re initiated by iconic brands like Canon,” shared Dulay.
Zig Dulay, an Isabela native, is well-known for his work as a filmmaker and screenwriter, specializing on regional films addressing sociopolitical and cultural concerns. He has garnered multiple awards for his gripping narrative, including Best Director for “Firefly” at the United States’ 1st Manila International Film Festival.
Dulay’s career includes highly praised filmography such as “Black Rainbow,” “Bagahe,” “Akin Ang Korona,” “Paglipay,” and “Bambanti,” which have received important prizes at international film festivals. His talents to television include directing blockbuster dramas such as “Sahaya,” “Legal Wives,” and “Maria Clara at Ibarra.”
Dulay’s collaboration with Canon Marketing Philippines is another step toward developing Filipino filmmakers’ narrative skills.
Canon Marketing Philippines has been holding workshops for Filipino creatives interested in various aspects of photography and video creation through the Canon Imaging Academy.
