Facebook has unveiled its new Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses packed with great and useful features.
Facebook in collaboration with Ray-Ban has unveiled their first-generation smart sunglasses called Ray-Ban Stories. Amazingly, it can capture photos and videos without using your smartphone or other devices. Not only that but you can also listen to music or even take phone calls using this device. In short, this device allows you to “keep your eyes on the world around you”.
Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses feature two 5MP cameras that can capture 2,592×1944 pixels resolution images. In terms of video, it can shoot 30-second videos with 1,184×1,184 pixels resolution at 30fps. It also has external-facing capture LED that signals others when you’re taking a photo or video. Reportedly, this device can store roughly 500 images and 35 videos with 30 seconds duration each. Not bad right?
Moreover, there are open-ear speakers placed on the temple of the smart sunglasses. You can use these speakers to listen to a music playback or take calls. It also features 3 built-in microphones to capture sound in all directions. Besides, it has a hyper-responsive touchpad that you can use to pause your song, take a photo, or record a video with a single touch. This device is also loaded with Facebook Assistant voice control, which allows you to control it without using your smartphone.
You can also transfer in your smartphone all the media files you captured using the Facebook View app. This application acts as the operating system and sharing companion of the Ray-Ban Stories. Facebook View also allows you to create and edit the content that you can share with social media apps like Facebook and Instagram. Just take note that this app requires a smartphone that has an Android 8.0 or higher and iOS 13 or higher.
Furthermore, you can charge it on the go with its portable charging case. However, Facebook and Ray-Ban claimed that the device can provide you six hours of moderate usage.
It will come in the market with three different types of frames such as Wayfarer, Round, and Meteor. Lastly, you can also choose between Black, Green, and Blue frames, as well as different types of lenses.
