HUAWEI and GCash are making it easier for more Filipinos to go cashless. The popular GCash Watch Pay feature is now available on iOS, joining Android and HUAWEI devices. This means iPhone users can finally make QR code payments straight from their wrist using HUAWEI’s latest smartwatches and fitness bands.

The feature supports a wide lineup of wearables, including the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series, WATCH FIT 3 and FIT 4 Series, WATCH D2, WATCH Ultimate, Band 10, and the new WATCH 5. For now, the WATCH 5’s iOS support will roll out soon, but it already works with Android and HUAWEI phones.

Paying From Your Wrist with GCash Watch Pay

With Watch Pay, users can scan QR codes directly from their watch or fitness band, making it convenient for quick payments like buying coffee, groceries, or commuting. It removes the need to pull out your phone or wallet, which is handy during workouts, errands, or travel.

GCash, already one of the most used payment apps in the Philippines, is expanding its smartwatch compatibility so more users can enjoy this convenience regardless of the phone they use.

    7. Select Bind on the GCash mobile app.
    8. Once the linking is successful, both the GCash mobile app and the smartwatch will display confirmation.

    For iOS and Android Devices:

    1. Download the HUAWEI Health app from the smartphone’s app store.
    2. Create a HUAWEI ID through the HUAWEI Health app, ensuring the region is set to the Philippines.
    3. Connect the HUAWEI Health app to the HUAWEI smartwatch.
    4. Open the GCash mobile app and ensure the account is fully verified.

    Expanding Access to Digital Payments

This update makes GCash’s payment system more inclusive, letting iPhone, Android, and HUAWEI users pay seamlessly with supported HUAWEI wearables. It also reflects a growing trend of integrating cashless payment solutions into fitness and lifestyle devices.

The feature is available on several popular smartwatches and fitness trackers, which can be purchased through Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, HUAWEI’s online store, and HUAWEI Experience Stores across the country.
