If you haven’t heard the news yet, GOMO has just updated its app to offer an eSIM upgrade! This is exciting for users like me who have a phone with just one SIM slot but need access to two networks.

Today, I received an update notification on the GOMO PH app announcing that I can now switch my physical SIM to an eSIM in just a few clicks. While I was eager to try it, I encountered a hiccup—attempting to upgrade my SIM showed an error message: “Oops, something went wrong.” This issue occurred on both my iPhone and Android devices. However, this feature is likely still rolling out and should be fully operational in the coming days.

How to Upgrade Your GOMO Physical SIM to eSIM

If you’re interested in making the switch, all you need to do is update the GOMO PH app through the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or other platforms. The GOMO eSIM is available through the replacement process and can be purchased directly from the GOMO shop. However, it will cost us PHP 199 to upgrade while PHP 399 for the eSIM purchased with 30GB no-expiry data.

    Here’s how you can upgrade:

    1. Open the GOMO PH app and go to the Account tab.
    2. Select SIM Management.
    3. Click SIM Replacement Request.
    4. Choose “I want to upgrade my physical SIM to an eSIM.”
    5. Accept the Terms & Conditions.
    6. Tap Upgrade to eSIM.
    7. Click Buy now.
    8. Choose Download eSIM or Display eSIM QR Code.
    9. Tap Proceed to Payment and Pay.

    How to buy GOMO eSIM

    1. Open the GOMO PH app and go to the Shop tab.
    2. Select eSIM with 30GB Data.
    3. Tap Buy now.
    4. Confirm that you meet the requirements.
    5. Choose Download eSIM or Display eSIM QR Code.
    6. Tap Proceed to Payment and Pay.

Why eSIM is a Big Deal

For iPhone users like me, whose devices only have a single SIM slot, this update is a game-changer. I primarily use a Smart SIM as my main network, but I rely on GOMO for its affordable, no-expiry data plans as a backup. Upgrading to an eSIM eliminates the hassle of carrying two phones or swapping SIM cards constantly.

Additional Features in the Latest Update

Aside from the eSIM upgrade, the latest GOMO PH app update introduces new payment options. You can now pay for transactions via Maya and GrabPay, making it even more convenient to manage your account.

This update marks another step forward for GOMO in making its services more user-friendly. Whether you’re looking for more flexibility with your data plan or simplifying your SIM setup, the new eSIM feature is definitely worth trying out.
