Google is rolling out Lyria 3, a new generative music model that’s now available directly inside Gemini.
With Lyria 3, users can create a 30-second, high-quality track complete with lyrics and cover art just by typing a prompt or uploading a photo. Whether it’s a sunset shot from an El Nido trip or a random thought while stuck in EDSA traffic, Gemini can turn those moments into a custom soundtrack that matches the exact vibe you’re going for.

Lyria 3 works like a digital instrument inside Gemini. You simply describe an idea or scenario, and the system generates a track based on your input. You can choose the genre, from upbeat pop to chill acoustic and other available styles. Users can also adjust the tempo, vocals, and overall feel to better match their vision.
Here’s how Lyria 3 works:
- Prompt to Play – Type in a detailed description of the vibe you want, for example, “a nostalgic 90s alternative track about a rainy day in Manila.” Gemini will generate a song based on that prompt.
- Visual Inspiration – If you’re not sure what to write, you can upload a photo instead. Gemini will analyze the image and create a melody that reflects its mood.
- Granular Control – After the initial output, you can refine the track further. Adjust the energy, tweak the vocals, or modify the style using additional prompts until it sounds right.
Google positions Lyria 3 as a creative partner rather than a replacement for human emotion and experience. In the Philippines, where digital creativity continues to grow from viral short-form remixes to visual storytelling, AI tools are increasingly becoming part of the creative process.
For many young Filipinos, AI works best as a collaborator. Lyria 3 offers a simple and accessible way to experiment with music. Students can use it to score school projects, while content creators can generate original beats for their videos.
Lyria 3 is now available through Gemini. Users can start creating by visiting gemini.google.com.
