HONOR has officially launched the HONOR Robot Phone globally, introducing a smartphone with a built-in 4DoF mechanical gimbal, AI-powered motion controls, combined with imaging technology developed with professional cinema camera maker ARRI.

The Robot Phone goes beyond the usual smartphone camera setup by physically moving its camera system. HONOR is introducing it as a device for creators who want more control over video capture without needing a separate gimbal.

First-ever Smartphone with 4DoF Mechanical Gimbal

The main highlight of the HONOR Robot Phone is its Titanium Agile Gimbal, a 4DoF mechanical system integrated directly into the smartphone.

HONOR says the gimbal uses more than 100 precision components and was developed through 60 manufacturing processes. The company also claims that it is 65% smaller than mainstream gimbals while offering 200% higher structural strength.

The system uses a 2.6g Titanium Gimbal Motor capable of moving at up to 360° per second, along with a Super Steel Flip Motor with a torque density of 120 N·m/L.

The camera arm can be used for different shooting modes, including Tilt Lock, First Person View (FPV), FPV Vertical, and AI SpinShot. This allows the phone to physically adjust its camera position while recording.

Dual 200MP Cameras With ARRI Imaging Partnership

HONOR is also working with ARRI, a professional cinema camera manufacturer, on the Robot Phone’s imaging system. The partnership brings selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional cinema workflows to the smartphone.

The rear camera setup is led by a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture. It is paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom.

    There’s also a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view.

The main camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording through ARRI CINEMA mode. The system also combines ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3, and ARRI Looks with HONOR’s H1 Image Chip.

For creators who want to edit their footage afterward, the phone can record in 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 video. HONOR also says footage can be brought into professional editing software such as DaVinci Resolve for further color grading.

For more than a century, ARRI has helped filmmakers translate technology into compelling visual stories. Our cooperation with HONOR brings selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional workflow thinking into a new mobile context, giving creators greater consistency, control, and creative flexibility from capture through post-production. With the HONOR Robot Phone, we are taking an important first step in exploring how established cinematic principles can support a new generation of visual storytellers,

AI Tracking and Hands-Free Camera Controls

The mechanical camera system is also connected to the phone’s AI features through MagicOS.

The HONOR Robot Phone introduces YOYO Robot Mode, which combines multimodal perception, gesture recognition, contextual understanding, and physical movement.

Its Voice Source Localization and AI Live-Tracking features allow the camera to automatically move to follow a subject in frame. This could be useful for recording vlogs, livestreams, or video calls without having someone manually operate the camera.

Users can also use hands-free gestures to deploy the camera arm and capture photos or videos.

Beyond the camera, YOYO Auto Execution allows the system-level AI agent to understand user intent and perform multi-step actions across supported apps and system settings.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 7,060mAh Battery

The Robot Phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, paired with a custom cooling system designed to manage heat during demanding tasks such as extended video recording.

It also comes with a 7,060mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge.

For the display, the phone features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED HONOR AI Eye Comfort Display with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 6,800 nits of peak brightness. It is protected by HONOR NanoCrystal Shield and supports 4320Hz PWM dimming.

The phone uses an all-metal integrated molding unibody design.

    HONOR Robot Phone Philippines Availability

The HONOR Robot Phone has now officially launched globally, but HONOR has not yet announced Philippine pricing or availability.

The device was first showcased at MWC 2026 in March before appearing at events including the Cannes Film Festival’s China Night and the Shanghai International Film Festival.

For now, Filipino consumers will have to wait for further details on whether the HONOR Robot Phone will make its way to the Philippines.
