This device is also Huawei’s “first high-performance notebooks” because it features the latest AMD Ryzen 5000 series laptop processors. It will have two variants: a Ryzen 5 5600H powered and a Ryzen 7 5800H powered variant. These processors have 6 and 8 cores, as well as 12 and 16 threads. Since it uses APUs, it will only rely on AMD Radeon Graphics that gives quite powerful graphics performance.
To keep the thermals under control, they put a 75mm gaming-grade Dual Shark Fin fan cooling system on this device. This cooling system also comprises two extra-wide thick heat pipes and an ultra-thin copper alloy heat sink.
As for the memory, the company packed it with 16GB DDR4 dual-channel RAM and 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD. It also comes with an 84Wh lithium-polymer battery and a 135W USB-C power adapter. With this battery, you can use this laptop for up to 12 hours of video playback.
MateBook 16 also has an immersive sound system whereas it has two built-in front-facing surround-sound speakers that can offer a great listening experience. It is also great for video conferencing because it has dual microphones. These mics can pick up your voice to around 5m away.
Moreover, its AI audio technology feature can also filter out ambient noise, which means you can still video call in noisy environments.
This laptop already supports Huawei Share where you can use Mirror Mode, Extend Mode, and Collaborate Mode. It also has multi-screen share using your phone, you can also answer a call and do file sharing.
For the ports, it has two USB3.2 Gen1 x2 on the side, while there are USB-C, full-size HDMI, and earphone combo jack. There is also a fingerprint scanner that acts as a power button, so you can use Windows Hello. Meanwhile, it has better connectivity since it has super-fast Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
