Last February 2022, Infinix released the ZERO 5G carrying already note-worthy specs including the processor Mediatek Dimensity 900. But just recently, the brand was said to quietly launched a successor, the Infinix ZERO 5G 2023. This is more likely an upgrade especially with the phone’s processor and storage.
One of the major upgrades the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 have is that its chipset was updated from Dimensity 900 to Dimensity 1080. Additionally, the 2023 model’s internal capacity is doubled and went up to 256GB. In complement to the processor, the Zero 5G 2023 has 8GB LPDDR5 of RAM and is expandable virtually by up to 5GB.
For free knowledge, the Mediatek Dimensity 1080 is an upgraded version of the Mediatek Dimensity 900 5G octa-core processor that now has native compatibility for 200-megapixel cameras and a faster Cortex-A78 core running at 2.8 GHz.
Differences of the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 to its predecessor
As mentioned earlier, the upgrades made from Infinix Zero 5G to the 2023 version was its processor and storage. Improving the chipset from Dimensity 900 to 1080, as well as the doubling of the internal storage, boosting it up to 256 GB.
An affordable telephoto lens was one of the previous Infinix Zero 5G’s most well-known and famous features, as it already means a good quality camera feature offered for those looking with a low budget. Unfortunately, the 13MP telephoto sensor has been replaced by a mediocre 2MP macro sensor on the Infinix Zero 5G.
On the other hand, the 48-megapixel primary shooter has been replaced with a 50-megapixel shooter though, which is definitely a plus. And to complete the Infinix Zero 5G 2023’s triple rear camera setup, there is still a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
In addition, for everyone who loves to take selfies, the Zero 5G 2023 compensates for the removal of the telephoto lens by still offering the good enough 16-megapixel front-facing camera with a punch-hole cutout is located on the top of the camera.
Furthermore, a small adjustment has been also made to the rear design of the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 as it now has three identical camera cutouts, down from two, and only one LED flash.
Retained specifications
The new version still has an expansive 6.78-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution, perfect for a clearer and wider view playing games, editing photos and videos, as well as creating school and professional tasks. Also, Infinix Zero 5G 2023 still has a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 500-nits peak brightness.
It comes with a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4G, LTE, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, Dual SIM, Dual standby, FM radio, USB Type-C, and XOS 12 interface running on Android 12. Like any other competent and powerful smartphones, the Zero 5G 2023 is supported by a heavy-duty 5000mAh battery with support for 33w charging.
Price and availability
There are three colors for the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 as it comes with white, orange, and black. The official price of the Infinix ZERO 5G 2023 has not yet been disclosed and announced, but we assume it to be most likely the same as the 2022 model which was released last February. Given that the initial version of the Zero 5G costs only Php11,990 in the Philippines, the price should still fall somewhere near that cost.
The latest version of the Infinix Zero 5G certainly offers an interesting and convincing upgrades and specifications. However, for the mean time, we may only anticipate hearing more from Infinix shortly. Stay tune here for more updates.
