Apple has unveiled the iPhone 17e, a more affordable model in the iPhone 17 series, powered by the latest A19 chip and Apple’s new C1X modem.
The A19 is built on a 3nm process and features a 6-core CPU (up to 2x faster than iPhone 11), 4-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing for AAA gaming, and a 16-core Neural Engine optimized for generative AI and Apple Intelligence.
The C1X modem is up to 2x faster than C1 in iPhone 16e, matches iPhone Air speeds, and uses 30 percent less power than iPhone 16 Pro’s modem, helping deliver all-day battery life.
The iPhone 17e sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with up to 1200 nits HDR brightness, protected by Ceramic Shield 2 with 3x better scratch resistance and reduced glare.
The aerospace-grade aluminum body is IP68-rated for water and dust resistance. It also includes Face ID and an Action button.
For photography, the 48MP Fusion camera supports a default 24MP mode and enables an optical-quality 2x Telephoto. Portrait mode now automatically saves depth data for people and pets, with adjustable background blur after capture.
It records 4K Dolby Vision video at up to 60fps, supports Spatial Audio recording, Audio Mix, and wind noise reduction.
Charging is via USB-C with up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes. It supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W, with access to Apple’s accessory ecosystem.
Safety features include Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My via satellite when off-grid, plus Crash Detection.
It runs iOS 26 with a new Liquid Glass design, Live Translation across key apps, on-screen visual intelligence, Call Screening, Hold Assist, and message filtering for unknown senders.
The iPhone 17e uses 30 percent recycled materials, including 85 percent recycled aluminum and 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery. It is manufactured with 55 percent renewable electricity and comes in fiber-based recyclable packaging.
