For those who haven’t heard yet, itel Philippines kicked off November by launching its latest flagship smartphone, the itel S25 Ultra. With its attractive price point, stylish design, and solid specs, it’s no surprise that many are eager to check it out.
I’m definitely one of those curious to try it, so I went ahead and got myself one. In this article, I’ll be sharing my first impressions of the device.
Unboxing Experience
If you’ve seen our unboxing of the itel S23+, you’ll notice that the unboxing experience has now been downgraded. The packaging now follows the standard design we see with most smartphones: a sleek black box featuring the model name and branding on the front, with warranty and key features printed on the back.
Although it doesn’t quite have the same flagship feel as its predecessor, the unboxing is still a straightforward and pleasant experience.
Inside the box, you’ll find the itel S25 Ultra, SIM ejector tool, a jelly case, tempered glass with an installation kit, a USB-C cable, and an 18W power adapter.
Design
When it comes to design, the itel S25 Ultra’s camera layout bears a striking resemblance to the Samsung S series, so if you’re a fan of that look, you’ll definitely appreciate this one.
The phone comes in three colors: Bromo Black, Meteor Titanium, and Komodo Ocean. The lightweight and slim build make it feel surprisingly premium in the hand, measuring just 6.9mm in thickness and weighing 163g.
For a budget-friendly device, the design stands out. The matte finish on the back looks great, though it does attract fingerprints and smudges. Thankfully, the included jelly case helps keep it looking clean and protected.
On the left side and top of the phone, you’ll find it completely empty, while the right side houses the power button and volume rockers. We can also locate the dedicated SIM tray, microphone, USB-C port, and speaker on the bottom.
A notable feature of the itel S25 Ultra is its durability. It boasts an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, making it safe against accidental splashes. The device also includes TitanShield protection for its body and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the display for extra durability.
Speaking of the display, the itel S25 Ultra features a large 6.78-inch 3D-curved AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution, which can offer a premium viewing experience.
The itel S25 Ultra is also geared towards photography enthusiasts, offering a 50MP main camera, a 2MP macro lens, an auxiliary lens, and a 32MP selfie camera. My initial test photos have shown decent quality, but I plan to push the camera further, especially in portrait mode and other real-world scenarios. I’m looking forward to diving deeper into it in my full review.
What’s inside the itel S25 Ultra?
Under the hood, the itel S25 Ultra doesn’t pack a powerhouse chipset designed for gaming. Instead, it runs on a 12nm UNISOC T620 octa-core processor paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It’s combined with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage, which should be sufficient for everyday tasks and moderate use.
While this phone isn’t tailored for gamers, I’ll run a few tests to see how it handles gaming scenarios.
The device runs on itelOS 14.5 based on Android 14, and it’s ready for an Android 15 update.
One of the highlights for me is the 5,000mAh battery, which is impressive considering the phone’s slim profile. However, it only supports 18W charging, so charging times may feel a bit slow, especially with the growing availability of phones supporting 33W or higher fast charging.
