Yesterday, 2K revealed that Kobe Bryant, the all-time leading scorer for the Los Angeles Lakers, a five-time NBA champion, a two-time Finals MVP, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, will be the cover athlete of the NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant Edition and Black Mamba Edition.
“As we celebrate 25 years of NBA 2K with Kobe Bryant, we commemorate his legacy and the generational impact he has had on the game of basketball,” said Greg Thomas, President at Visual Concepts.
Players may channel their inner Mamba in the all-new Mamba Moments mode as a way to honor Kobe’s return to the NBA 2K cover. Recreate some of Kobe’s most captivating on-court displays as you follow his transcendent development from a young prodigy to one of the all-time greats.
NBA 2K24 will also debut ProPLAY, a ground-breaking new technology that seamlessly integrates NBA video into the game’s action. More information about Mamba Moments and ProPLAY will be available later this summer. ProPLAY offers animations and motions via on-court NBA action for a generational leap in authenticity on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
NBA 2K24 will be available on all platforms starting on September 8 and will support crossplay with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 (PS5).
“While we mark the history of the franchise, NBA 2K24 also looks ahead to the future to bring an innovative leap in technology and the introduction of community-requested features like crossplay,” he added.
NBA 2K24 will be available in three digital and physical editions: a Kobe Bryant Edition, a legendary Black Mamba Edition, and an all-new, exclusive 25th Anniversary Edition, which includes a 12-month membership to NBA League Pass. All NBA 2K24 versions are now available for pre-order:
NBA 2K24: 25th Anniversary Edition
The brand new, limited edition 25th Anniversary Edition will be available for USD 149.99 for PS5, PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through September 10, 2023.
