Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has announced that it will provide free streaming of the largest sports event in the world to all network users from July 26 to August 11 as an official broadcast partner of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 in the Philippines.
Smart Olympic Games Paris 2024
Through the Smart LiveStream App, available for download on the Google Play Store and App Store, both Smart and non-Smart customers can watch in real-time the highly anticipated events and support the Philippine National Team—from the start of the opening ceremony until the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Don’t worry; there will be video on-demand access for those who are unable to see the events live.
Smart LiveStream will be scheduled to broadcast the games continuously, and a few events will also be streamed live on the Smart Sports and Puso Pilipinas social media accounts, making Smart’s coverage of Paris 2024 the most thorough in the nation.
Filipinos can watch and cheer on their national athletes as they compete for the gold and flag thanks to Smart’s broadcast. These athletes include: EJ Obiena (Athletics-Polevault); Carlos Yulo (Artistic Gymnastics); Nesthy Petecio, Aira Villegas, and Hergie Bacyadan (Women’s Boxing); Eumir Marcial and Carlo Paalam (Men’s Boxing); John Ceniza, Elreen Ando, and Vanessa Sarno (Weightlifting); John Cabeng Tolentino (Athletics-Men’s 110-Men’s Hurdles); Lauren Hoffman (Athletics-Women’s 400-Men’s Hurdles); Aleah Finnegan (Gymnastics); Levi Jung-Ruivivar (Gymnastics); Emma Malabuyo (Gymnastics); Joanie Delgaco (Rowing); Samantha Catantan (Fencing); Bianca Pagdanganan (Golf); Dottie Ardina (Golf); and Kayla Sanchez (Swimming).
In addition to supporting the Filipino Olympians, basketball fans can track the accomplishments of their idols by cheering for Team USA, the NBA’s 2024 Redeem squad led by LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry. Team USA may face other NBA players like Rudy Gobert and Victor Wembanyama (France), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece), and current MVP Nikola Jokic (Serbia).
Two-time French Olympian Earvin N’Gapeth will aim to rally the home fans in men’s volleyball together with Kevin Tillie and Stephen Boyer. In Tokyo 2020, France won the gold medal in men’s volleyball. Along with their senior squad, the USA will be captained by Erik Shoji, Matt Anderson, Aaron Russell, Max Holt, and Micha Christenson.
“We are thrilled to bring the world’s biggest sporting event to every Filipino wherever they are, enabling them to watch, support, and share the exciting journey of our national team as they give their best and go for gold,” said the Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart, Alex O. Caeg.
The Head of Sports at PLDT and Smart, Jude Trucuato, stated that “we encourage everyone to follow, support, and be inspired by our national athletes in the biggest competition of their lives, powered by Smart’s superior mobile network.”
