Emerging automotive brand OMODA&JAECOO demonstrated the capabilities of its groundbreaking Super Hybrid System (SHS) in a recent Super Hybrid Marathon that spanned over ten countries. Designed with the brand’s cutting-edge engineering, the JAECOO J7 SHS and OMODA C7 SHS covered a combined 100,000 kilometers, reinforcing OMODA&JAECOO’s leadership in the global hybrid mobility space.
The SHS technology is a pioneering development from the company’s parent brand, rooted in its Global Hybrid Technology Standard Declaration and Open-Source Initiative—an effort aimed at advancing vehicle safety standards. The same innovation will serve as the foundation for OMODA&JAECOO’s upcoming hybrid lineup. In the Philippines, the JAECOO J7 SHS is the first vehicle equipped with this new technology, delivering what is considered the smoothest turbo-charged powertrain among local hybrid SUVs.
To deliver exceptional range and performance, the SHS integrates a 1.5T GDI turbocharged direct-injection engine with a DHT hybrid transmission. Together, they produce up to 342 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque, with an impressive 44.5% thermal efficiency and 98.5% electric drive efficiency. It also maximizes its hybrid nature by using regenerative braking and intelligent power distribution.
Safety is also at the core of the SHS platform. Its advanced battery protection system offers excellent resistance to heat, impact, and water, making it durable in harsh environments. Notably, its ultra-high electrical safety control includes a 2-millisecond power cutoff feature in the event of a collision, effectively preventing thermal runaway. These advanced safety measures earned the JAECOO J7 SHS a prestigious five-star safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), a standard also met by the OMODA C7 SHS.
JAECOO J7 SHS and OMODA C7 SHS Prove Strength in Super Hybrid Marathon
The Super Hybrid Marathon tested the vehicles in a variety of harsh conditions—from freezing temperatures to intense heat, mountainous areas, rainforests, and more. It was part of OMODA&JAECOO’s 2025 Summer Business Summit, designed to showcase the real-world performance of the SHS.
In April, the JAECOO J7 SHS took on different terrain across countries like the Philippines, Mexico, Thailand, and Brazil. During its Mexico run, the SUV set a new Super Hybrid Marathon record with a 1,613.1 km drive, surpassing the 1,488.8 km achieved in the Philippines during a verification test by the Automobile Association Philippines earlier this year. Meanwhile, its Thailand leg revealed a remarkable fuel efficiency of just 3.1 liters per 100 km. In Brazil, the vehicle received praise for its quiet operation and impressive performance in full electric mode.

The OMODA C7 SHS also made headlines during its drive from Shanghai to Wuhu, where it handled various road conditions, including nighttime rain and mixed urban-rural routes. The vehicle completed a 1,457 km trip on a single tank while in hybrid mode, supported by a pure electric range of 121.1 km and fuel economy of 4.4 liters per 100 km. These achievements follow the model’s debut at Auto Shanghai 2025 and strengthen its credentials as a promising contender in the hybrid SUV category.

The brand has also partnered with Autoflare Corporation and Carlux Holdings to open additional showrooms in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, and Tagum City in Davao del Norte.
