According to global analytics firm Ookla, Globe Telecom was the most consistent Philippine mobile operator in the first quarter of 2022.
Globe is the most consistent mobile network for Q1 2022
Based on the latest Ookla Speedtest Intelligence data for the Philippines, Globe got a nationwide consistency score of 79.45 from January to March 2022. This score is also higher than the score they got in the same period last year. Globe’s current score is also greater than the 79.02 recorded in the fourth quarter of 2021. It just indicates the continuing rising trend of Globe.
Calabarzon dominated the list of places with an increased consistency score for the first quarter, with 81.26. It follows with a 73.95 score from Central Visayas, while Bicol received a score of 73.02.
The number of tests taken that are faster than a specified speed threshold determines the mobile consistency score. The higher the statistics, the more probably users will have good internet service and quality.
“We continue to uplift the lives of our fellow Filipinos through digital technologies. To deliver innovations and better services to our customers, we continue to invest heavily in upgrading and expanding our network,” said Ernest Cu, Globe President, and CEO.
Globe also won the best 5G mobile video award for the third and fourth quarters of 2021. This means that Globe customers who use social media and streaming services like Facebook Live, Netflix, and YouTube, and those who indulge in online gaming, will have a better video experience.
Last year, Globe spent an unprecedented PHP 92.8 billion to build 1,407 new cell sites as well as roll out 1.4 million fiber-to-the-home lines. They also activate over 2,000 5G outdoor sites and in-building solutions.
This year, Globe plan to spend PHP 89 billion to build new cell sites and upgrade their existing sites to 4G/LTE. They will also use the budget in accelerating the rollout of 5G connectivity and expand its fiber offering nationwide.
