OPPO held its Global Final Demo Event of the 2023 OPPO Inspiration Challenge yesterday in Singapore. During the event, fifteen start-ups showcased their unique proposals in competition for a spot in the worldwide top five.
OPPO Inspiration Challenge Final Demo event
The OPPO Research Institute launched the OPPO Inspiration Challenge for the second year on May 8 – a global platform designed to empower entrepreneurs and technology experts throughout the world. OPPO has chosen 15 creative solutions from 687 entries from 66 countries and regions to advance to the Global Final Demo Event after an extensive review process and three regional demo events in Boston, Shenzhen, and Bangkok.
As part of its objective of “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World,” OPPO worked together with Deloitte China to organize a specialized Acceleration Camp before the Global Final Demo Event to better prepare the 15 start-ups for the global final. The 15 finalists were asked to participate in technical workshops and a simulated final last October 16-17.
They also partnered with top OPPO executives, technical experts, and high-profile external mentors to explore breakthrough technologies, industry trends, and business opportunities in digital health, accessible technology, and sustainability. The 15 teams next presented their demonstrations or prototypes in the allocated display area at the final event. Among them, chosen teams that have already been working with OPPO will reveal their most recent prototypes to the public.
The judges of the OPPO Inspiration Challenge evaluated the 15 proposals on the day of the Global Final Demo Event based on four criteria: feasibility, innovation and originality, long-term potential, and social values. The top five proposals will be unveiled at the event, with each winning team receiving a USD 50,000 reward as well as chances to assist in further developing and marketing their ideas.
OPPO also unveiled the two People’s Choice Award-winning ideas in the “Inspiration for People” and “Inspiration for the Planet” categories. The public-voted awards honor the enormous influence that modern technology has on people’s daily lives.
