Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. today announced its Wi-Fi 7-ready Qualcomm Networking Pro Series Gen 3 family of platforms.
The Qualcomm Networking Pro Series Gen3 is the world’s highest performance Wi-Fi 7 network infrastructure platform portfolio. It is now sampling and accessible to worldwide development partners.
It combines Wi-Fi 7 capabilities with Qualcomm Technologies’ intelligent multi-channel management technologies to boost speeds, minimize latency, and increase network usage for WiFi 6/6E devices. This is all while providing game-changing speed and exceptionally low latency for the next generation of Wi-Fi 7 client devices.
“Building upon the strong Wi-Fi 6/6E momentum and leadership, Qualcomm Technologies’ Wi-Fi 7 capable third generation Networking Pro series platform delivers record wireless capacity and throughput performance taking the Wi-Fi infrastructure across home and enterprises to the next level.” said, Neil Shah, Research Vice President, Counterpoint Research.
To boost performance, it features three spectrum bands: 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz. It claims a top speed of 33Gbps, which corresponds to 10Gbps connections for end-users. To recall, Wi-Fi 6E, which also operates at 6GHz, can give speeds of more than 2Gbps.
Moreover, it will include Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which will allow for the use of several radio connections on distinct channel frequencies. There is also Adaptive Interface Puncturing (AIP), which discards overcrowded spectrum spaces.
“Qualcomm Technologies has enabled the era of 10 Gbps Wi-Fi with our first customer deliveries of the Wi-Fi 7 Networking Pro Series,” said Nick Kucharewski, senior vice president and general manager, Wireless Infrastructure and Networking, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
All of Qualcomm’s new technologies will allow for faster and more consistent internet speeds in public places like stadiums. Nick also said that they expect a new class of customer systems for both current applications and the developing Wi-Fi 7 ecosystem.
