Most of us are still connected to the internet using prepaid since it does not require a monthly bill and lock-in period. Some users preferred unlimited data promos for heavy usage, unfortunately, all the unlimited data promos have price hikes such as the Smart UNLI DATA promo.
Smart UNLI DATA promo price increased
To recall, the prices of the Smart UNLI DATA are originally PHP 99 for 7 days of validity and PHP 299 for 30 days of validity. It got its first price hike last December 2022 when the price reaches PHP 125 for the 7 days validity and PHP 349 for the 30 days validity.
This month, the Smart UNLI DATA promo again received a price hike. The 7-day validity promo now has a price of PHP 149, while the price of the 30-day validity promo increased to PHP 399 or a PHP 50 increase.
This is quite bad news for Smart subscribers that rely on this promo, especially for students who need it for their online classes. Just do take note that this unlimited data promo is only available in selected Smart prepaid, TNT, and DepEd SIM cards.
To check if it is available to your SIM card, just open your GigaLife app and click the Don’t Miss Out icon. You can also check it by dialing *123#.
If not available, you may buy the Smart Bro Rocket SIM which also offers 30 days of unlimited data allocation but at a more expensive price of PHP 699.
For additional comparison, there’s also GOMO SIM with 30 days of unlimited data for only PHP 599 which also received a price hike last December 2022 from PHP 499 to PHP 599. If the signal of Globe is good in your area, we suggest choosing GOMO SIM or vice versa.
However, if you rarely use the internet or you are not streaming videos all day and not downloading big files, we suggest not availing of an unlimited data promo to save money. Instead, you may choose data pack promos from our telcos.
