SONY, one of the best and leading tech companies in the world is soon to release a drone in the field of AI robotics. Today SONY announced their drone project called Airpeak. This project aims to create SONY’s first drone combining their imaging and sensing technological expertise and AI Robotics.
Airpeak is aiming to contribute more to the development of the entertainment industry as well as to improved efficiency. Airpeak also is expected to promote drone-use with the highest level of safety and reliability to the environment.
The drone industry right now is dominated far away by DJI. The king of drones DJI is is so far the best in the market, beating all other competitors such as Autel, Skydio, and more. GoPro in 2016 tried to match with their Karma drone with end up as a big failure. With the new player coming, SONY so far is the biggest company to counter DJI’s dominance. With SONY’s expertise in imaging, this might change the game in the drone world.Â

Sony is expected to obtain feedback from drone users through co-creation activities and promises to give continuous updates and progress of the project. This project is expected to release in the spring of 2021.
