vivo has officially announced the global launch of its newest operating system, OriginOS 6, marking another step forward in human-computer interaction designed for the AI-driven era.
“For years, vivo has deepened its global presence under the principle of ‘More Local, More Global,’ and continues to create products and experiences that stay true to users’ needs,” said SHI Yujian, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at vivo. “As we celebrate vivo’s 30th anniversary, we are taking the next step with the global debut of OriginOS. Guided by our ‘Origin Design’ philosophy and built on three core pillars of smoothness, design and AI, the brand new OriginOS 6 reimagines the way people connect with the digital world.”

Focus on smooth performance
Smoothness takes center stage in OriginOS 6. The new Origin Smooth Engine coordinates the system’s core components—computing, storage, and display—to deliver a seamless user experience. According to vivo, the 8+1 Ultra-Core Computing system improves app startup speeds by 18.5% and boosts frame-rate stability by 10.5%. Other enhancements like Memory Fusion and Dual Rendering promise faster data loading and smoother animations.
The operating system also introduces new motion effects under the Origin Animation System, including Spring Animation, Blur Transition, and Morphing Animation, making every touch more responsive and natural. Meanwhile, the Snap-Up Engine prioritizes power for high-demand actions such as ticketing, ensuring quick and reliable responses.
vivo says the latest X300 Pro with OriginOS 6 has received SGS certification for sustained smoothness, simulating up to five years of consistent performance.

A design inspired by nature
OriginOS 6 brings a cleaner, more natural design approach through the Origin Design system, which unifies color, typography, icons, and depth for a visually balanced look. The new vivo Sans font supports over 40 languages, while Dynamic Glow and Translucent Color effects add realism to the interface.
The system also introduces more customizable elements. Users can resize and arrange widgets freely using the Lock Screen Grid, experiment with a new 4×7 Home Screen layout, and use Flip Cards that add subtle motion to photos as the device tilts.
Smarter AI integration
vivo has also placed a big emphasis on AI. Built in collaboration with Google, vivo AI integrates upgraded Gemini and Circle to Search, offering smarter interactions. The new Origin Island feature brings live updates and actionable suggestions at the top of the screen—like copying a phone number to call directly or dragging photos to other apps for editing.
AI tools also extend to imaging and productivity. Features like AI Retouch, AI Erase, and AI Image Expander simplify photo editing, while DocMaster, AI Creation, and Smart Call Assistant aim to boost productivity and communication.
Privacy, security, and endurance
vivo says data privacy and device security remain a priority. The new vivo Security brand focuses on transparency, on-device intelligence, and minimal data collection. Additionally, BlueVolt technology enhances power efficiency and charging stability for longer, cooler performance.
OriginOS 6 Roll-Out Timeline

OriginOS 6 will begin its global rollout starting November 2025, with availability schedules varying by region.
