TECNO Mobile has silently launched its first 5G-ready smartphone, the POVA 5G. TECNO has really stepped up their game because this phone has great features. Let’s check it out.
TECNO’s first 5G-ready smartphone
This new TECNO POVA 5G is perfect for gaming just as its predecessors. The company now equipped this phone with the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 900 octa-core chipset that supports 5G connectivity. It also has a large 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. Reportedly, this phone also supports Dynamic RAM expansion of up to 3GB Virtual RAM.
As for the display, it features a large 6.95-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole at the top center. This screen has FHD+ resolution, 480ppi pixel density, and also supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
The POVA 5G now also comes with a 50MP main shooter, along with 2MP and an AI lens. At the front, it has a decent 12MP selfie camera.
Moreover, it also comes with a very large 6,000mAh battery capacity. It means it will give you a couple of hours of gaming or social media consumption. The POVA 5G has a standby time of 775 hours, a talk time of 55 hours, and a gaming time of 11 hours. According to the company, it will support 18W fast charging. They say that a 15-minute charge will provide you with 3 hours of gaming time.
For its design, it looks similar to its predecessor but with more premium aesthetics, especially with the camera bump. The device’s dimensions are 172.82 x 78.24mm, and less than 1cm in thickness.
Other features are a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock technology, 4G and 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6, and USB Type-C.
Price and availability
There are no details yet about its availability but the tentative price of TECNO POVA 5G is USD 289 (around PHP 14K). It seems like they will release it next year. Let’s just wait for their further announcements. So, stay tuned!
