To recall, Samsung released its first “do-it-all” smart monitors last November 2020 named M5 and M7. These smart monitors can function as a monitor and as smart TV. Today, they announced its latest Smart Monitor M8 which comes with a stylish design and better features. Speaking of design, it looks similar to Apple iMac, also having a flat back-back body.
Samsung monitor that looks like an iMac?
This new Samsung Smart Monitor M8 features a large 32-inch VA-type panel with 4K UHD resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It also has a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 1.07 billion colors, HDR10+, and 400nits max brightness. This latest Samsung smart monitor has 11.4mm thickness making it three-quarters slimmer than its predecessors. It also has thinner bezels for the best viewing experience.
Users may also utilize Wi-Fi to access a range of over-the-top media services without needing to connect to a PC or TV. That includes such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, YouTube, and more. It also features Samsung DeX, Apple AirPlay 2, and Microsoft 365 cloud service, as well as mirroring content from smartphone to the M8.
To run those features, Samsung installs Tizen OS to this device that can also act as a control hub for your smart home devices. Its ports have two USB Type-C ports and one micro-HDMI port. Besides, it also has Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 5.
Smart Monitor M8 also has a magnetic SlimFit Cam that is very convenient to attach and detach on the monitor. This webcam supports face tracking and auto-zoom functions, can quickly identify a person’s face and automatically focus on the subject. Samsung mentioned that it can track and capture an individual speaker, making it ideal for live presentations or live streaming.
Moreover, it also supports video chat apps like Google Duo, helping users in their video conferencing or WFH setup. The monitor also has a built-in high-sensitivity Far-Field Voice microphone. You can use this mic for assistant controls devices such as Bixby and Amazon Alexa.

Lastly, it comes with four available colorways, Warm White, Sunset Pink, Daylight Blue, and Spring Green. The Samsung Smart Monitor M8 will be available in the market for only USD 729 (around PHP 37.9K). However, there’s no announcement yet about its local pricing and availability.
