OPPO launches its new Reno8 Series 5G in their launch event in BGC yesterday, August 22, 2022.
OPPO’s newest handset, dubbed the Portrait Expert, features a flagship portrait system that lets users record and capture their moments from day to night.

innovate the OPPO Reno Series, we want to focus on one of the leading
challenges for devices–capturing photos and videos at night. With the OPPO
Reno8 Series 5G, people can now capture ultra-clear nights and shine at their
best moments, anytime and anywhere,” said Chiqui Tapawan, Head of
Marketing Communications of OPPO Philippines.
Flagship-grade portrait system for ultra-clear nights in portrait
OPPO Reno8 5G features dual Sony Flagship sensors. Its front camera has the Sony IMX709 32MP sensor with OPPO’s self-developed RGBW color array. This function produces 60% more light than standard RGB lenses.Â
On the back, it features the 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for its
main shooter. This sensor has a 1/1.56-inch sensor, which allows for more light
and better pictures. Both cameras have a hardware-level digital overlap high
dynamic range (DOL-HDR) to ensure that customers’ night portraits have the
proper mix of brightness and shadow.
The dual Sony Flagship sensors also support Ultra Night
Video, which improves overall picture brightness, details in dark areas, and
image quality in low-light conditions. Basically, it recreates colors and
decreases image noise. It comes with Ultra Night Portrait for faster nighttime
photography and Portrait Mode for DSLR-like bokeh effects in user portraits.
The OPPO Reno8 Z 5G, on the other hand, has a 64MP AI Triple
Rear Camera and a 16MP front camera. It features Bokeh Flare Portrait to
capture portrait images with bokeh light spots. Besides, it also features
Selfie HDR that can deliver clear selfies in low-light surroundings.
Innovative tech features for remarkable performance
The premium-like portrait system of the OPPO Reno8 5G is complimented with flagship-level features that provide outstanding performance in the most important situations for users. It uses an 80W SUPERVOOC super-fast-charging technology and a 4500mAh battery to charge the battery to 50% in 11 minutes.
Additionally, it has an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 5G
6nm CPU that runs on 8GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM for incredibly smooth
performance. It also runs ColorOS 12.1 out of the box which comes with a lot of
personalization and a smart experience. To recall, it offers Omoji,
Anti-Peeping for Notifications, Air Gestures, and many more.
Meanwhile, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G Mobile Platform powers the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G. Along with the chipset is a large 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. OPPO also mentioned that you can expand its storage up to 1TB using a microSD card slot. Besides, the device also carries a 4,500mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging support.
Slim, stunning design for an impressive look
The OPPO Reno8 5G features the streamlined unibody design of the OPPO Find Series for a modern and attractive appearance. They achieved it using complicated procedures that flawlessly connect the Portrait Expert’s camera and back cover.
A design like this minimizes the camera’s incongruity, resulting in a smooth visual experience and texture. It boasts its Shimmer Gold colorway and Shimmer Black which is very eye-catching.
Furthermore, the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G has an ultra-slim body design and a 0.5mm anti-glare glass back cover with the iconic OPPO Glow. It comes in two striking colors: Dawnlight Gold and Starlight Black.
Price and availability
The OPPO Reno8 Series 5G will be available for pre-order this coming September 1, 2022. You can pre-order it on OPPO official store on Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop, as well as in physical stores. However, OPPO still did not disclose its pricing so stay tuned!
