It’s been a while since nubia Philippines dropped the nubia Focus Pro 5G, a phone clearly made for photography lovers, and you can tell just by the name and design!
After using the nubia Focus Pro 5G for a bit, I’ve got to say, its features are pretty solid for the price. In this article, I’m sharing my first impressions, with a full review coming soon where I’ll go deeper into my experience with the phone.
Design and Build Quality
Right from the first time I held the nubia Focus Pro 5G, I could feel how solid it is, probably because of those aluminum sides. It’s a bit on the heavier side, which can make it a little tricky to handle, but honestly, I don’t mind it.
The back design, however, is made of what appears to be a glass-like plastic, commonly referred to as ‘glass-tic.’ I’m unsure of its durability in the event of accidental drops, so I highly recommend using the included hard case for added protection.
The device comes in two color options: Classic Black and Light Brown. The Classic Black has a sleek, professional appearance, though it’s worth noting that the glossy finish is prone to fingerprints and smudges. The Light Brown variant, with its vegan leather back, is likely to be more eye-catching and offers a more premium feel.
One of the standout features is the large camera island, which houses a 108MP main camera alongside two other unspecified lenses. However, the significant camera bump causes the phone to sit unevenly when placed on a flat surface.
In terms of input and output, the bottom houses the microphone, USB-C port, and a single-firing speaker. At the top, you’ll find an additional microphone, while the left side contains the volume rockers and dedicated SIM tray. On the right side, you’ll see the power button/fingerprint scanner, as well as a dedicated camera button and a customizable shortcut slider that can be used to open the camera, switch sound modes, activate the flashlight, or launch the voice recorder.
Additionally, the device features a large 6.72-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals and a sharp viewing experience. Positioned at the top-center of the screen is a punch-hole cutout, which houses the 32MP selfie camera.”

The device comes with a huge 5,000mAh battery, supporting 33W fast charging, ensuring quick recharges and long-lasting power. Out of the box, the nubia Focus Pro 5G runs on MyOS 13, based on Android 13, providing a modern and intuitive software experience.
