In case you missed it, CMF recently entered the clip earphones category with its new CMF Clip Pro. It is already available in the Philippines for only PHP 5,990 at Digital Walker. We’ve been using it for almost a month now, and here are our thoughts on these earphones.

Design and Comfort
This is my first time trying a CMF device, and I love their aesthetic personality, especially on the CMF Clip Pro. Its charging case already looks cute and minimal. I’m also excited about the case because it has a built-in smart dial that you can use to play/pause music, skip to the next or previous track, adjust the volume, and more.
The earphones themselves are good-looking and lightweight. They stay comfortable even after long use because of the 3-point clip design, which doesn’t put noticeable pressure on your ears.

Honestly, this is probably the lightest and most comfortable clip earphone I’ve tried which only weighs 5.92g per earbud. The pod, which is made of soft-touch TPU material, surely helps, as it is nicer and more durable than silicone.
In the one month that I’ve been using it constantly, even during my runs/walks and for casual use, there are no signs of wear and tear. It also has a 0.5mm titanium wire that is claimed to hold its shape even after thousands of wears. I think it is durable even though the build is soft and lightweight.
The CMF Clip Pro also has an IP54 water and dust resistance rating, so it’s okay if it gets wet from sweat or if you get caught in the rain while running.
By the way, the available colorways are Coral, Light Grey, and Dark Grey. I’m glad we received the Coral colorway as our review unit, because it’s my preferred color and the one that best represents CMF.

Audio Performance and Mic Quality
In terms of audio quality, I like the sound it produces, especially since it has an open-ear design. It uses a 10.8mm dual-magnet driver, so the sound is strong and the bass is deeper.
I also use other earbuds, the HONOR Choice Earbuds Clip and the Shokz OpenDots 2, and I would say the CMF Clip Pro sits in the middle of the two. If the OpenDots 2 doesn’t fit your budget, the Clip Pro is a good alternative.
The audio quality isn’t perfect, but I consider it good for its price. The sound is clear, especially the mids and highs. I recommend adjusting the equalizer to your liking, but it already sounds good out of the box.
Sometimes my equalizer is set to the Electronic preset, with bass enhancement at level 2, which is the maximum. This is the best setting for my preference.
It also has 4 microphones, 2 on each earbud, and I’d say the quality is good. The mic quality is decent for calls and voice notes, though they could still improve it in future versions.
It uses Clear Voice Technology, which acts like noise cancellation so that the person on the call hears only your voice and not the noise around you.

Battery and Connectivity
The CMF Clip Pro also has good battery life. It lasts over 20 hours for me, while the website claims up to 32.5 hours. I keep bass enhancement and other settings on, which is probably why my battery life is shorter.
CMF also says that a ten-minute charge can deliver up to 4 hours of playback. That is enough if you’re in a hurry and forgot to charge them.
These clip earphones support Bluetooth 5.4 and dual connection, so you shouldn’t have any problems with connectivity. However, it would have been better if they had used a higher Bluetooth version for better performance. The supported codecs are LDAC, AAC, and SBC.
Verdict
The CMF Clip Pro is one of the best-value clip earphones right now, given its good specs and reasonable price. Even for someone like me who loves earphones and is picky about them, the audio quality passes. You can also confidently use it for workouts or commutes because of its IP rating. I can recommend it if this is your first time buying clip earphones and your budget is under PHP 10K.
