Sony has announced the LinkBuds Clip, its newest wearable audio device designed for users who want to stay aware of their surroundings while listening to music, podcasts, or calls.
Sony LinkBuds Clip Brings Open-Ear Listening to Everyday Use
Unlike traditional in-ear earbuds, the LinkBuds Clip uses an open-clip, C-shaped design that doesn’t go into the ear canal. This allows users to hear ambient sounds like traffic, conversations, and announcements without removing the earbuds.
Sony says the design also helps reduce ear fatigue by improving airflow and eliminating pressure inside the ear.

The earbuds are designed for all-day use, whether commuting, walking around the city, or working. Their open structure makes conversations easier and promotes safer situational awareness, while still delivering clear audio.
The LinkBuds Clip comes with three listening modes. Standard mode focuses on balanced sound quality for music. Voice Boost mode enhances vocals, making it easier to listen to podcasts or videos in noisy environments. Sound Leakage Reduction mode minimizes sound spill, ideal for quieter spaces.
Despite the open design, Sony says audio quality remains a priority. The LinkBuds Clip uses sound tuning inspired by Sony’s flagship 1000X series and supports features like DSEE music upscaling, 360 Reality Audio, and a customizable 10-band equalizer via the Sony | Sound Connect app.
For calls, the earbuds use a bone conduction sensor and AI-based noise reduction to keep voices clear even in busy environments.
Battery life reaches up to 37 hours with the charging case, while quick charging provides up to one hour of playback from just three minutes of charging. The earbuds also carry an IPX4 rating for sweat and splash resistance, support multipoint connection, and offer tap controls and scene-based listening.
