HUAWEI has officially launched the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 in the Philippines, a titanium smartwatch positioned as the lightest and most accurate in its class, built specifically for runners seeking advanced training intelligence.
It was co-developed with marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge, the only athlete to run a marathon in under two hours, bringing elite-level training insights into an everyday wearable.
The collaboration is rooted in Kipchoge’s “No Human Is Limited” philosophy, which promotes running as an accessible discipline for everyone, regardless of pace or experience.
He emphasized that the partnership with HUAWEI is driven by shared values around movement, health, and making structured training guidance more widely available through wearable technology.
Developed with input from the DSM-Firmenich running team that supports Kipchoge, the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 delivers refined performance tracking through one-second interval data capture for more precise analysis and faster training adjustments.
It introduces running power metrics that go beyond heart rate, measuring actual mechanical output alongside cadence and stride data to better assess effort, efficiency, and form.
Real-time feedback is a key focus, with pace, split deviations, and effort metrics displayed instantly to act as an active pacing companion.
Accuracy is strengthened by a 3D floating antenna system and dual-band satellite support across major global navigation systems, ensuring stable tracking in challenging environments. When signals weaken, an AI-assisted XDR positioning system uses motion data to maintain consistent pace and distance tracking.
The watch also features Intelligent Marathon Mode, which combines pacing data, environmental conditions, and physiological inputs to guide runners during race scenarios.
Beyond tracking, the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 also serves as a coaching tool by analyzing heart rate variability, sleep, and training load to recommend adjustments to recovery and training intensity.
Kipchoge noted that consistency and discipline are central to progress, and this collaboration aims to make elite training knowledge accessible to more runners worldwide.
