Rockstar is officially launching a standalone version of Red Dead Online on December 1. They will be separating it from the Red Dead Redemption 2. And you will be able to buy this as a standalone product.
This new standalone version will cost $20. But from the launch until February 15, 2021, you can buy the game for just $5 because it will be selling 75% off in the said period. For PS4/PS5 or Xbox One/Series X|S users, this online game requires a subscription to PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold.
You can buy the game through Xbox Store, PlayStation Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, and Epic Games Store. However, it will require 123GB of free space to install. You can still get the Red Dead Redemption 2 experience in this version with no difference. Though, there’s no report on specific enhancement if you are playing on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
Additionally, it will offer you an option to purchase the so-called Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode, but the price is not announced yet.
Lastly, the Red Dead will be the first of Rockstar’s game that will be decoupled in terms of Online and Campaign mode. Because as we know that GTA Online brought massive success to the company. Yet, it has not been separated from Grand Theft Auto V. But they will be releasing a standalone version of GTA Online in the second half of 2021.
