Users of Xiaomi phones from China found out that the latest MIUI version does not allow them to install Google Mobile Services.
A Twitter post of Teme (@RODENT950) mentioned that you are no longer able to install GMS in Xiaomi phones from China. That is because the latest MIUI 12.5 blocks the GMS. It greatly affects devices from China that support the MIUI 12.5, particularly Redmi K30 Ultra and Redmi 10X 5G. However, the Global model still supports Google Mobile Services.
Since before, Chinese phones don’t have pre-installed Google apps because Google is banned in Mainland China. So, China ROM Xiaomi phones come without having GMS, to have GMS you need to install it manually.
Avoid the grey market if you are planning to buy a Xiaomi phone and don’t want to encounter this problem. Grey market is unofficial resellers that are not authorized to sell products by the original manufacturer. We advise you to choose to buy in an authorized Xiaomi store to have a Global model. But if you already bought a China ROM Mi phone, maybe flashing a Global ROM is the solution. Just keep in mind that flashing ROMs can brick the device and may void your warranty.
