Globe has established eight new cell sites and done at least 84 site upgrades in key locations in Batangas. This is to improve its services to its customers in the said province. Last April, Globe announced its plan to build 200 new cell sites in Batangas this year. We can see that Globe is really working on providing better performance and services this year.
Out of the 84 sites upgraded, they made 4G LTE connectivity available in 52 locations, from the very old 3G network. This is part of the company’s provincial growth and development program.
All Globe customers throughout the province can now expect improvement to their call, SMS, and data browsing experiences.
However, Globe added that customers should upgrade first their 3G SIM cards to 4G ready ones. This is to make use of the full potential of the company’s network enhancements.
“We encourage our customers in Batangas, especially the ones who are still using the old 3G SIM cards to switch to 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM cards and to upgrade their mobile devices into 4G LTE capable ones now for them to enjoy the difference in mobile experience brought by these network rollouts,” Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group, said.
According to Agustin, customers in Batangas can preserve their existing numbers when they upgrade to 4G LTE SIM cards. Customers can swap their SIM cards for free at their local Globe Store if quarantine protocols in their respective zones allow it.
Globe subscribers in San Juan, Batangas may get a free upgrade to a 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM card at the following stores:
