YouTube adds the Super Thanks feature that allows fans to instantly tip their favorite video creators. It is a series of features intended to increase ways in how creators may earn money on YouTube.
Users may select one of four price options between $2 to $50 to thank a content creator. When a user selects one of these available options, they will see a celebration animation on-screen. Besides, it will display a colorful message with their name appear in the comments box below the video. Then content creators may respond to these messages just like the way they do to the normal comments.
This new feature is similar to the tipping feature rolled out these recent years such as Super Chats and Super Stickers. Unlike the previous tipping features that can only utilize when live streaming, this new feature will work on every uploading video.
In addition, YouTube has already been testing this feature over the past year with the name ‘View Applause’. Now it became Super Thanks and is already available in beta in 68 countries including the Philippines. And this feature is also accessible on desktop, iOS, and Android devices.
Providing additional ways to earn in YouTube will surely help content creators especially small channels. This will make every content creator engage more in the platform.
Moreover, to access the Super Thanks feature, eligible creators must already be part of YouTube’s Partner Program. The release of Super Thanks from its initial test will be randomized to thousands of additional creators. However, all qualified content creators anticipated receiving access by the end of the year.
