First laptops with 480Hz screen refresh rate!
The Alienware 17-inch laptops equip the industry’s first 480Hz screen refresh rate display with a 3ms response time at FHD+ resolution. This extremely fast display is perfect for competitive gaming, especially in first-person shooting games.
The 480Hz display, according to Alienware, will give “animation smoothness for easier target tracking, ghosting reduction to minimize distracting effects and lower system latency to make it easier for you to spot other players earlier.”
However, it will not come with a default 480Hz refresh rate. You can choose between 120Hz, 165Hz, 360Hz, and 480Hz. To get the 480Hz variant over the 165Hz, it will cost you an additional USD 300. But if that is too pricey for you, just pick the base 165Hz variant. In addition, the 120Hz variant comes with UHD resolution.
For their performance, the Alienware m17 R5 comes with AMD Ryzen 7 6800H or Ryzen 9 6900HX processor. You can choose between NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, RTX 3070 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700M, or RX 6850M XT for GPU.
This laptop is also configured with AMD Advantage, it means you
will experience the pure speed of its CPU and enjoy vivid visuals with its GPU.
You can also take advantage of its features like AMD SmartShift Max, Smart
Access Memory, and Smart Access Graphics.
Meanwhile, the Alienware x17 R2 comes with 12th Gen Intel
i7-12700H or i9-12900HK. The available GPU for this device is NVIDIA GeForce
RTX 3060, RTX 3070 Ti, or RTX 3080 Ti.
Both of these laptops can configure with up to 64GB 4,800MHz DDR5 RAM, up to 4TB NVMe SSD, and Windows 11 Home or Pro. You can also choose between an ultra-low-profile mechanical keyboard or the default Alienware X series thin keyboard.
Price and availability
The price of the Alienware m17 R5 starts at USD 1,999.99 (around PHP 111.6K). While the price of the Alienware x17 R2 starts at USD 2,249.99 (around PHP 125.6K). These laptops are now available in the US, but there’s no information yet about local pricing and availability.
