Garmin has officially introduced Garmin Pay™ in the Philippines, expanding its wearable ecosystem with a faster, safer, and more convenient way to make contactless payments directly from compatible Garmin smartwatches.

As digital payments continue to grow globally, this rollout strengthens Garmin’s push to integrate everyday payment convenience into devices that are already central to users’ active lifestyles.

“Garmin has always been committed to creating products and developing features that help people make the most of their active lifestyles, both on and off the move,”

Jamie Su, Country Manager, Garmin Philippines

“With Garmin Pay now available in the Philippines, we’re able to make everyday payments more convenient for users while expanding the connected experience of our products across our ecosystem.”

With Garmin Pay now available locally, users can make purchases without reaching for their wallets or smartphones, enabling a more seamless on-the-go experience.

Powered by Local Banks and Global Networks

Garmin Pay is made possible through partnerships with GoTyme Bank and EastWest Bank and is supported by global payment networks Visa and Mastercard.

This integration allows users to link eligible debit or credit cards and use them directly from their smartwatch for secure, contactless transactions at supported merchants nationwide.

    GoTyme Bank: Simplifying Everyday Payments

GoTyme Bank highlighted how wearable payments align with its vision of modern banking. The bank sees the integration as another step toward making cashless payments more seamless and rewarding for Filipino users.

“At GoTyme Bank, we believe banking should be simple, secure, and beautifully integrated into everyday life.”

    Nate Clarke, CEO, GoTyme Bank

“Garmin Pay gives our customers a convenient way to pay right from their Garmin smartwatches they already use every day, whether they’re commuting, working out, traveling, or simply going about their daily routines. It’s another step toward making cashless payments more seamless, effortless, and rewarding for Filipinos.”

EastWest Bank: Expanding Digital Financial Access

Supporting Garmin Pay, EastWest Bank emphasized the importance of bringing financial services closer to where users already are. The collaboration supports the bank’s broader goal of strengthening its digital payments ecosystem and improving accessibility for everyday financial transactions.

“At EastWest, we continue to expand our digital payments ecosystem in our pursuit to be present where Filipinos already are—supporting how they live, move, and spend.”

    Jerry Ngo, CEO, EastWest Bank

“Through our partnership with Garmin Pay, we are extending this commitment to Filipinos with active and on-the-go lifestyles, offering payment solutions that are designed to keep pace with them every step of the way.”

Secure Payments Powered by Visa and Mastercard

Security remains a key focus of Garmin Pay’s rollout.

According to Visa Philippines Country Manager Jeffrey Navarro, Visa cards added to Garmin Pay are protected by network tokenization, which replaces sensitive card details with a unique one-time digital code for every transaction.

This helps reduce fraud risks while ensuring a smooth payment experience across stores, restaurants, transport, and travel destinations. Meanwhile, Mastercard also emphasized the growing demand for flexible, lifestyle-driven payment solutions.

“Consumers today are looking for payment experiences that fit seamlessly into their lifestyles.”

Jason Crasto, Country Manager, Philippines, Mastercard

    How Garmin Pay Works

Setting up Garmin Pay is straightforward: Users simply link their debit or credit cards through the Garmin Connect™ app, then activate payments directly on their compatible smartwatch.

    To make a purchase, users:

    • Enter their passcode on the smartwatch
    • Select a preferred card (if multiple are added)
    • Tap the watch on any supported contactless Visa or Mastercard terminal

This tap-and-go system allows for quick, secure payments and is ideal for situations like grabbing coffee after a run or paying for groceries on the way home.

Beyond Payments: Part of the Garmin Ecosystem

Garmin Pay also extends to the Connect IQ™ Store, allowing users to purchase apps, watch faces, and premium content directly within Garmin’s ecosystem.

This further strengthens the smartwatch experience, blending fitness tracking, personalization, and now financial transactions in one connected platform.

    Availability

With the arrival of Garmin Pay in the Philippines, Garmin is pushing its wearable ecosystem beyond fitness tracking and turning smartwatches into fully functional digital wallets.

As contactless payments continue to expand across the country, this launch positions Garmin at the intersection of fitness, lifestyle, and financial technology. Users can activate the service using eligible cards from GoTyme Bank and EastWest Bank, with more supported banks expected to follow in the future.

Garmin Pay is now officially available in the Philippines for compatible Garmin smartwatches. For more updates and information, you can check their official website.
