Last year, Google is reportedly developing an app that can help iPhone users to switch to Android, and it is now available!
Planning to switch from iOS to Android?
Google quietly launches the app called “Switch to Android” on the Apple App store in some international regions including the United States. With this app, users may transfer their data from another type of device to a new Android smartphone.
The app guides users through the same procedure that all new Android device owners must go through. Besides, you don’t need to connect two phones with a cable since the app works wirelessly.
This app helps you quickly and securely move your most important data such as photos, videos, contacts, and calendar events. The app also shows users how to disable Apple’s iMessage to receive text messages on their new smartphone. It also guides users on how to connect to iCloud to move their picture and video libraries to Android.
Google’s app comes several years after Apple’s app, which helped Android users transition to iPhone. Apple released its Move to iOS app for Android customers in September 2015, making it the company’s first app on Google Play. This app also has a similar function as it also imports photos, messages, Google accounts, contacts, and bookmarks.
Furthermore, Google’s new Switch to Android iOS app does not assist customers in moving their applications. This is most likely due to restrictions on what third-party apps may access on a user’s device.
The app also does not appear in App Store search results or on Google’s developer website. However, you can temporarily access the app with its direct link, but it will surely be official in the App Store soon.
